ROCKLAND, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Today, Rockland Trust welcomed Edgartown National Bank customers into
the Rockland Trust family with the addition of Edgartown National Bank’s
branches in Edgartown, Vineyard Haven, and Oak Bluffs. Founded in 1907,
Rockland Trust is a community-focused, locally based bank that serves
families and businesses in Eastern Massachusetts – now from Martha’s
Vineyard through Boston metro north.
With the transition, customers will still be working with the same
people they know and trust as Edgartown National Bank’s branch staff
will continue on as Rockland Trust employees. Products and services will
now include additional benefits such as instant-issue debit cards,
envelope free “Smart” ATMs, mobile banking with mobile check deposit,
cash management services for businesses, a broad range of commercial
banking services, and investment management services.
Rockland Trust and its affiliated foundations have a long history of
supporting the community, and the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation
will make a series of philanthropic grants to several local Martha’s
Vineyard community organizations, including the Martha’s Vineyard
Preservation Trust (MVPT), Vineyard House, Martha’s Vineyard Community
Services (MVCS), and Martha’s Vineyard Arena.
“We are thrilled to welcome Edgartown National Bank customers,” said
Rockland Trust CEO, Christopher Oddleifson. “We are happy to be able to
help preserve Martha’s Vineyard’s historical landmarks and help Island
residents by contributing to some of the great human service programs in
place. Rockland Trust looks forward to serving our newest customers, and
being a part of the community for many years to come.”
The Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation will be a Presenting Sponsor
for the Martha’s Vineyard Preservation Trust’s 32nd annual
Taste of the Vineyard and Patrons’ Stroll, Its $10,000 contribution will
go towards acquiring, preserving and managing the endangered historical
landmarks of Martha’s Vineyard.

Vineyard House for their major annual fundraiser event, Water Tasting by
the Sea. A non-profit organization, Vineyard House provides housing for
Island men and women who need a safe living environment while in the
early stages of recovery from addiction.
As a sponsor for the 39th Annual Possible Dreams Auction, the
Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation was pleased to contribute $2,500 to
Martha’s Vineyard Community Services which strengthens and improves the
lives of more than 6,000 Island neighbors each year. Since 1961, MVCS
has strived to meet the Island’s human service needs through programs
including Connect to End Violence, disability services, early childhood
programs, the Island Counseling Center, Island Wide Youth Collaborative,
and Veterans Outreach.

of the Martha’s Vineyard Arena for generations of islanders and visitors
to come by contributing $5,000 to its renovation project. The
contribution will help to modernize the 40-year old facility and replace
outdated equipment critical to the operation of the Island’s only ice
skating rink.
